In 2012, Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers initiated a "Students Stopping Crime" program in Brown County Schools. Students who step forward with anonymous information on crimes, alcohol, drugs or bullying in schools are eligible for cash awards through the program, based on an internally recognized model.
The focus of the program is to reduce drugs, weapons, and alcohol being brought onto school property by paying a reward for accurate information. We also encourage students to report knowledge of criminal activity that has taken place in the community. School and police officials agree that most students want to do the right thing to keep their schools and neighborhoods safe but sometimes fear reprisals. The Students Stopping Crime program offers the safety of complete anonymity while promoting responsibility and allowing students to take action against victimization and crime.
When to call
If you aren't sure that what you saw or heard is really a crime, contact us anyway. Let the police decide if it's worth investigation. It may be a piece of a clue to a bigger crime.
